Forest Pines Golf Club

Secretary’s Trophy
19 September 2025

Saxilby Golf Societies September fixture saw a return visit to Forest Pines.

In tough conditions scoring was low and the many trees that surround the course was frequently visited.
Playing the Beeches and the Pines the going was certainly tough for the Members present if not one of our guests.

Once again the Society welcomed Sue Lynes MD of the Catering Saint who sponsored the event.

Sue took the first tee with Vice Captain Steve Leachman in the first four ball and her golf over the last year as got to the stage where she is not phased playing with the male members.

At the conclusion of play it was guest and Saxilby resident Shane Deakin who with 38 points was the overall winner.

The Secretary's Trophy saw a second win of the season for Harvey Benson who scored 36 points.
Vice captain Steve Leachman was second with 33 points with the final podium position going to Dave Mayo with 31 points.

The guests can certainly play par 3's with both Shane and Aiden Mahon taking 2 a piece and Andy Ecelson the other. Aiden was the only player of the day to score a two ball.

The players retreated to the Shires at Cleatham for an excellent. Chairman Graham Flint precided over the fines before VC Steve and Sponsor Sue presented the prizes to the days successful golfers.
A special presentation to President Ernie Dyson who just happened to have a birthday The Shires gave him a cake and a drink to celebrate another year.

October sees a return to the Lincoln Golf Club for the Annual Memorial Day.

Once again Cliff Bradley & Sons are sponsoring the event and we will welcome Dave Parsons on there behalf and hope he enjoys the day.
