Day 1 – York Golf Club
The Darling Dozen teed off their long-awaited trip in fine fashion at the picturesque York Golf Club. With the sun shining and the skies clear, spirits were high — even if some swings were a little rusty after the journey. The course was in excellent condition, and it didn’t take long for the competitive juices to start flowing. There were moments of brilliance, near-misses, and more than a few mutterings into the rough. By the 18th green, there were smiles all round, even if a few golfers looked like they’d done 36 holes instead of 18. A strong start to the trip, with great golf and even better company.
Day 2 – Teesside Golf Club
Storm Floris greeted the dozen with a blustery welcome at Teesside, throwing in a dose of rain for good measure. While lesser mortals might have turned back, eleven brave souls stepped up to the challenge — with only Dave choosing to sit this one out, proving he might be the wisest among us! The front nine was a test of patience, stable footing and adjusting to find out out you might have lost a shot after a handicap recalc. By the back nine, the sun made a welcome appearance, though the wind still did its best to steer a few tee shots off course. Trees weren’t the only things getting knocked around out there! Despite the tricky conditions, the group powered through with grit, laughter, and the occasional four-putt.
