Waltham Windmill
Treasures Trophy
11 April 2025
With the Masters in Augusta in full swing Saxilby Golf Society produced there own Masters Competition with there 2025 season opener at Waltham Windmill Golf Club.
On the warmest day of the year 27 Members battled it out for the Treasurers Trophy.
Waltham was in excellent condition despite the dry weather of late and on the whole scoring was good. With plenty of run on the fairways and fast greens several members recorded good scores.
Rob Wilson was edged out of third place on countback to Ian Waite both scoring 36 points. Neil Houghton took the runner up spot with 37 points. But Saxilby Masters Champion was the evergreen President Ernie Dyson with a mammoth 42 points. What an inspiration Ernie is to the younger Society members. In fact every Member bar one.
Nearest Pins on the day went to Ray Caines, Andy Ecelson and 2 for Steve Leachman who got the only two ball of the day. The team prize went to Dyson, Waite and Lee Hayward.
During the round Graham Flint scored his 2000th point during his 35 years as a Member. An excellent start to Michael Billson's year as Captain.
The May fixture sees a return to Radcliffe on Trent Golf Club on Wednesday 14th,
The T.C. Maddison Memorial will be played for on that day.
The Society would like to thank Agrigem Ltd who are kindly sponsoring the day.
